Don’t Forget to Vote on November 4th!

Wild Spaces and Public Places The Gainesville Sports Commission is one of many community groups who advocate a healthy lifestyle for all our citizens and support a wide range of sports. We’ve joined hands with advocates for protection of green space, water resources, and wildlife habitat in the Wild Spaces and Public Places Campaign, a project of the Conservation Campaign. This citizen-led effort is seeking voter approval for a one-half percent sales tax over the next two years. This effort has the potential to raise $20 million to continue Alachua Forever funding as well as $20 million for improvements to all Alachua County cities’ and various county recreation facilities – including a Senior Recreation Center, new soccer fields, swimming pool improvements, an 8-lane rubberized track, and many other needed projects. Please “Click Here” to read the ballot language and learn more about this initiative that will be on the November 4 ballot or to contribute.
